We’re Andy and Steph. We’ve been in hospitality for over 20 years, and in 2019 we put down roots in East London with Exale Brewery and Taproom. From day one, it’s been all about fresh, small-batch beer—brewed weekly—and good times with great people.
Since then, our family has grown: The Three Colts Tavern in Bethnal Green, a modern East End local with rotating kitchens and events. William the Fourth Leyton, built around community, great drinks, and solid tunes.
And now The Black Eel in Dalston- our biggest project yet. Set in the historic Cooke’s Pie & Mash Shop, it’s a multi-layered space with a main bar, karaoke, games, lounges, a huge hidden garden, and Riley’s kitchen serving bold Mediterranean plates and Sunday roasts.
For us, The Black Eel isn’t just a pub- it’s a neighbourhood hub for nights out, big occasions, and everything in between. See you at the bar.
